Just recently the AP Preseason All-American Team was released, with the nation's best projected players from both sides of the ball represented by a variety of the major conferences. Now, the True Freshman team was announced.

While the AP team is made up of the best players of all ages, 247Sports conducted a list of the best true freshmen, and compiled their Preseason All-American Team.

Headlining the list was none other than Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith. The Florida native attended Chaminade-Madonna Prep where he put up incredible numbers. During his senior season, Smith had 1,376 yards on 88 catches and 19 touchdowns. In one singular game he racked up 17 catches for 321 yards and three touchdowns. With performances like these, Smith helped lead his team to three straight state championships.

Flash forward to now, Smith is entering his first season with the Buckeyes where he is looking to add his name to the the long list of elite Ohio State receivers like Marvin Harrison Jr., Chris Olave, and Garrett Wilson (just to name a few).

Here is what 247Sports had to say when highlighting the number one-ranked receiver on their list:

"Jeremiah Smith is the top wide receiver prospect in Top247 history, and the hype surrounding him hasn't slowed down since his Ohio State arrival. Smith is going to have a huge role for the Buckeyes' offense, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he emerges as target 1B behind Emeka Egbuka. Nothing really seems out of reach for Smith in Year 1. He's going to be a huge contributor".

As long as Jeremiah Smith is healthy, he will no doubt have a long and extremely successful career.
