College football is better when Nebraska plays meaningful football late in the season. And Husker fans have long waited for their team to return to the mountaintop of college football.

That hasn’t quite been the case lately, as Nebraska has not made a bowl game since 2016. However, FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt is buying stock in the Cornhuskers right now.

The big storyline entering Nebraska’s season is how freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola will look at the helm. The Buford, GA native, who chose the Huskers over the likes of Georgia and Alabama, has been praised by many in training camp for his arm talent.

The Cornhuskers’ schedule is also very favorable this year. With an early challenge against Colorado in Week 2, their first four conference games include home games against Illinois and Rutgers and road games against Purdue and Indiana. So, there is a very real chance Nebraska goes into a game against Ohio State in Columbus at 7-0.

Bringing in experienced transfer wideouts such as Jahmal Banks from Wake Forest and Isaih Neyor from Texas will help the young quarterback get his feet wet at the college level. If all pans out, Nebraska could be an entertaining team to watch this season.
