The Elite 11 Finals routinely feature quarterbacks who end up being future No. 1 overall picks in the NFL Draft and the 2024 version is underway at Mira Costa High in Manhattan Beach, California.

Iowa State commit Alex Manske earned praise from the 247Sports recruiting experts after the first day of competition between the nation’s top prep quarterbacks, coming in at No. 11 in their rankings on June 18.

Manske, 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, plays for Algona (Iowa) High School and threw for 1,787 yards, 17 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in 10 games along with rushing for 714 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2023.

Manske is the No. 36 quarterback recruit in the Class of 2025.

From 247Sports: “Cheers to Manske, who entered the week as our lowest-ranked QB but had a nice first night and edged a few others for the No. 11 spot in our very early weeklong rankings. The five-sport athlete isn't the most technically refined passer at this stage, but he's got some natural arm talent and looks like the type of quarterback that can coordinate RPOs at a high level. He's the ideal fit for an Iowa State program that hinges on player development.”
