In another year of high expectations, Penn State hopes to keep winning, with their non-conference finale approaching. The Nittany Lions are coming off a bye week, during which they squeaked out a win against Bowling Green in week two.

The leader of the Nittany Lions, quarterback Drew Allar, leads a Nittany Lion offense that ranks eighth in the Big Ten. Yahoo Sports analyst Adam Breneman likes what he’s seen from Allar so far, ranking him second among Big Ten quarterbacks only behind Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel. Indiana’s Kurtis Rourke, USC’s Miller Moss, and Ohio State’s Will Howard also cracked the list.

Through two games, Allar has thrown for a total of 420 yards and five touchdowns. Wide receiver Tyler Warren has been his favorite target so far, leading the Nittany Lions in receiving yards with 176. Warren’s partner in crime, Harrison Wallace III, has also reached the 100+ yard mark, with a total of 117 yards and two touchdowns.

On Saturday, Penn State will host the Kent State Golden Flashes at Beaver Stadium. Kent State is coming off a humiliating loss to Tennessee in Knoxville 71-0, so we’ll see how the Nittany Lions offense stacks up with the Volunteers, who many think have the best offense in the country.
