Colorado’s annual fall sports media day fell on head football coach Deion Sanders’ 57th birthday — he decided to make it memorable.

Sanders went back and forth with the media — some of them at least — in one of the more bizarre early-season press conferences in recent memory.

Denver 9 News KUSA Sports Anchor Scotty Gange called Sanders out for his behavior at the press conference. Sanders seemed to save most of his vitriol for CBS Sports, refusing to answer questions from a local CBS reporter, and Denver Post columnist Sean Keeler

“Deion Sanders unleashed today,” Gange wrote on his X account. “He was hostile and bullied individuals who dared to ask him a question at his press conference.”

Colorado went 4-8 in Sanders’ first season in 2023 after going 1-11 in 2022.

The Buffaloes open the season on Aug. 31 at home against North Dakota State.
