These Tiger teams are a combined 28-0 on the season and are both led by talented quarterbacks. Clemson's Trevor Lawrence has yet to lose a collegiate game and is eyeing his second College Football Playoff title, while the Heisman-winning Joe Burrow has led LSU to a breakout season.

As is always the case with prominent championship games, the halftime show is on the shortlist of things to watch. But don't expect the pomp and circumstance of previous CFP halftime shows featuring musical stars. This year's show is expected to be a little different for college football's 150-year anniversary.

Here's everything you need to know about the CFP halftime show on Monday night, including approximate start time and who is performing.

CFP halftime show 2020: Who is performing at national championship game?

There won't be a musical act during halftime of the 2020 College Football Playoff championship game. Instead, the halftime show will consist only of performances by the LSU and Clemson marching bands, a callback to the customary traditions of college football as part of the 150-year anniversary celebration.

The bands typically play at halftime of the CFP championship game, but in recent years the broadcast would cut away to big-time musical acts performing at an offsite concert.

Additionally, the top 11 players from the 150-year anniversary of college football will also be recognized during the show.

There were a number of musical acts scheduled to perform at a fan fest away from the Superdome throughout the weekend. On Monday, that stage will include country music artist Tim McGraw and alt-rock band Judah & the Lion. It's not clear how or when those performances will be shown during ESPN's coverage of the game.

What time does the college football halftime show start tonight?

With the game scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. ET, expect halftime to start approximately 10-10:30 p.m. ET.

CFP championship halftime show history

In recent years, the College Football Playoff adopted a Super Bowl-style halftime show featuring big-time musical acts.

Kendrick Lamar's show from nearby Centennial Olympic Park was broadcast during halftime of the 2018 CFP title game between Alabama and Georgia at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

In 2019, Lil Wayne and Imagine Dragons collaborated to entertain viewers from Treasure Island — 45 minutes away from the Alabama-Clemson title game in Santa Clara.

Who is singing the national anthem at college football championship?

Lauren Daigle will perform the national anthem prior to kickoff. The national anthem ceremony will include a live feed of U.S. troops watching the game overseas, as well as drummers from both teams' bands playing side-by-side as the color guard is introduced.
