The 2024 Maxwell Award Watch List was just revealed, and the Big Ten Conference is prominently featured with 12 stars.
Second only to the Heisman Trophy for prestige and history, the 87-year-old Maxwell Award is given each year to the most outstanding player in college football. While the Big Ten has a long history with the Maxwell Football Club, the conference has not had a winner since Penn State RB Larry Johnson in 2002.
This year's preseason contenders for the honor include stars from eight member schools and three different positions. Ohio State leads the way with three players, tied with the Miami Hurricanes for most on this year's Maxwell watch list:
