The first Army vs. Navy game took place on Nov. 29, 1890, which resulted in a 24-0 Navy victory. Starting in 1930, the rivalry game took place annually and has been typically hosted in either Baltimore, New York City or Philadelphia.
For much of the first half of the 1900s, the Army vs. Navy game had national implications, but has since largely reverted to a rivalry game with lesser weight on the national scale. Regardless, the game has been televised nationally since 1945 and marks the final regular season game of the season since 2009.
