No. 3 Kansas battles No. 4 Duke in a huge opening-day contest between two perennial title contenders. The Jayhawks head into the new year with the return of elite big man Udoka Azubuike and rising guard Devon Dotson while the Blue Devils turn the page from the Zion Williamson days to sophomore guard Tre Jones and stud freshmen Vernon Carey Jr. and Matthew Hurt. 

The doubleheader, which also features No. 1 Michigan State vs. No. 2 Kentucky, is the first of its kind to include each of the top four teams from the preseason AP poll.

Kansas vs. Duke is on ESPN, the first game of the network's Champions Classic coverage on opening night. 

Dan Shulman and and Jay Bilas will be on the call for ESPN's coverage of the game alongside court reporter Holly Rowe. "College GameDay" will also be live from the event beginning at 6:30 p.m., with Bilas, Rece Davis, Seth Greenberg and LaPhonso Ellis.
