Welcome to a new era in the Big Ten and college athletics in general. The conference has expanded to 18 teams with the addition of the four former Pac-12 teams from the West Coast – Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington.
Clearly, everyone is concerned about how the new look will impact football because that’s what’s about to get crankin’, but basketball is right around the corner as well, and there will be more to talk about there too. From new arenas and culture, to what each of the four teams brings to the Big Ten, it’ll all be appointment television you’ll want to take in.
One guy took a stab at looking ahead to basketball season and he’s a guy that has been around for a while and knows a thing or two about Big Ten hoops. It’s none other than Big Ten Network contributor, Andy Katz.
Katz talked about the culture of the League and what the four new teams can expect, but he also dove into what current Big Ten teams, fans, and coaches can look for with what each of the new kids on the block brings to the table.
We have to say, after listening to what Katz has to say, it’s hard to argue against him and it makes us a little excited to see how this all plays out once basketball season rolls around. If you haven’t had a chance to listen to what he has to say, You’ve got your chance here thanks to the Big Ten Network “X” account.
The potential of what this conference is going to be with this new look is mesmerizing.
