The United States Men's National Team has its sights set on a fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal, and the program has sent a historically talented roster to accomplish the job.

With two-time gold medalist LeBron James leading the charge, Team USA is complete with All-NBA level talent. Including James, four members of the roster have been named league MVP, seven have won at least one NBA championship, and eight earned All-NBA honors for the 2023-24 season.

USA Olympic men's basketball roster

At 39, James is the oldest member of this year's USA roster. James returns to the Olympics 20 years after making his debut in Greece and 12 years after his last time on the Olympic stage.

Curry, 36, is the oldest of five Olympic first-timers on the roster. Embiid (30), Derrick White (30), Tyrese Haliburton (23), and Anthony Edwards (22) round out the group of players making their Olympic debut in 2024.

This year's roster also features five members of the team that brought gold back to the States after winning in Tokyo. Durant, Bam Adebayo, Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday, and Jayson Tatum will look to make it two consecutive Olympic gold medals.

As members of the 2024 Celtics, Tatum and White look to join the exclusive list of players to win an NBA title and Olympic gold in the same year. Holiday, who joined the list in 2021, can be a two-time member on the list.

Who coaches the U.S. men's basketball team?

This is Steve Kerr's first Olympics as head coach of the  USA men's basketball team. Gregg Popovich retired from the position after Team USA won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Gonzaga's Mark Few, the Clippers' Tyronn Lue, and Miami's Erik Spoelstra round out the assistant coaches. Hall of Famer Grant Hill is the team's managing director.

Team USA has a storied history playing basketball at the Olympics. The Americans have taken home gold 16 times in 19 appearances, including seven of their past eight appearances and four in a row.

While Team USA is going for its fifth consecutive gold in 2024, the program's longest streak is seven straight, beginning in 1936 and running through 1968.

USA Olympic men's basketball schedule

The opening ceremony at the 2024 Olympics is July 26. The men's basketball tournament tips off the next day on July 27 and ends with the medal games on Aug. 10.

Team USA is one of 12 teams to qualify for the Paris Olympics. It will play in Group C with Serbia, South Sudan, and Puerto Rico.
