As a new generation of basketball enters the National Basketball Association, and an old one fades away, league experts and analysts draft who they would pick to start their franchises with as of right now.

Coming in fourth was none other than Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Shai was selected 11th overall out of Kentucky in the 2018 draft by the Charlotte Hornets, which was then traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Shai spent one season with the Clippers where he did not see much playing time, but it was during the massive Paul George trade from OKC in 2019 that allowed SGA to take massive strides in his development.

Flash forward to today, Shai is the leader of this young and successful Thunder squad averaging 31 points per game, six assists, and over five boards. Not only that, but for two years in a row, Shai has been in the top five for MVP voting.

From midrange scoring and driving to the paint to leading the league in total steals, SGA can do just about anything and is everything a general manager would want in an all-star caliber player.

As the 2024-25 season approaches, SGA looks to continue to lead the Thunder to another first seed out West and a playoff run that leads to the franchise's first ever title.
