Luka Doncic has arrived in Ljubljana, Slovenia, for a basketball game that includes an eye-popping roster of many of the best current and former European players of all time.

Goran Dragic announced his retirement from the NBA last season, and his decision is now inspiring one of the greatest overseas pickup games ever.

Dirk Nowitzki was seen telling Steve Nash that Doncic is going be their first pick from the list of superstar players set to participate. Nash joked back that means their team “will be playing zone from the start,” if the Mavericks point guard is their first selection.

The number of high-profile names set to participate is insane. Nash, Doncic, and Nowitzki will be joined by Bogdan Bogdanovic, Luis Scola, Nikola Vucevic, Nikola Jokic, and Dragic’s entire Slovenian national team.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Chris Bosh, Jimmy Butler, Marc Gasol, and Kevin McHale are also rumored to be participating in the “farewell game,” but we will have to wait and see who all makes it.

Dragic has always been a big supporter of Doncic during his career, so it is no surprise the reigning Western Conference Finals MVP is showing up to return his appreciation. Well before Doncic was on the casual NBA fan’s radar, Dragic called him “wonder boy” and predicted what his career has turned into in Dallas.

“He is a born winner. He already has a lot of trophies and medals. Mark my words, he is going to be one of the best in the whole world,” said Dragic.

The game will take place on Saturday, August 24th, at Stozice Arena and can be streamed on the NBA app starting at 2 PM EST.
