The NBA is growing every year and the league itself continues to increase in value, as do the franchises within it.
The Milwaukee Bucks are three years removed from an NBA championship. With their recent years of success, the value of the team has started to rise. As a result, many people have begun to gain interest in becoming shareholders of the organization, including a retired Bucks player.
“Businessman and former NBA player Ulysses Lee (Junior) Bridgeman is buying a 10% stake in the Milwaukee Bucks,” Michael Ozanian of CNBC Sport reports. “The transaction will value the team at $4 billion.”
Bridgeman played 10 seasons with the Bucks throughout his 12-year career. Through 711 games in Milwaukee, the versatile wing averaged 13.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. Known for his locker room presence and leadership, the Indiana native made an impact on every team he played for, but most notably the Bucks.
Following his NBA career, the savvy entrepreneur made a name for himself purchasing fast food businesses and turning his investments into profits. Enough so, the Bucks legend has put himself in position to purchase a stake in the ownership of his former team where his jersey number is retired.
Looking ahead, Bridgeman will have the chance to stay close to the organization as the team hopes to return to the NBA Finals soon.
