The first big domino of the NBA offseason fell as the Suns and Wizards pulled off a blockbuster trade on Sunday.
The Wizards will send Bradley Beal to the Suns in exchange for Chris Paul, Landry Shamet and multiple second-round picks and pick swaps, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
With Beal alongside Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton, the Suns will form a new Western Conference superteam — but an expensive one at that. Phoenix will spend a total of more than $160 million in salary on just those four players.
The trade is just the start of a busy offseason for the Suns, who currently only have five players under contract for next season, including point guard Cameron Payne.
