The Chicago White Sox have been the most talked about seller on the trade market this month.

Chicago has initiated somewhat of a fire sale, although it still hasn't parted ways with its widely desired lefty starter, Garrett Crochet.

Multiple contenders, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, are vying for Crochet's services, but Chicago isn't going to entertain offers from all of them.

On Tuesday, New York Post's insider Jon Heyman reported that the White Sox shut down negotiations with the New York Yankees for Crochet due to being misaligned with New York's offerings for the left-hander.

"Yankees were told several days ago they “don’t match up” for Crochet," Heyman said.

There's a growing chance that Crochet isn't moved at all prior to Tuesday night's deadline, rendering obsolete weeks of Crochet chatter across Major League Baseball airwaves.

Crochet isn't the only White Sox player seeing hollow narratives created around their trade status. It is now surfacing that reports of Luis Robert Jr.'s demand on the market were grossly exaggerated in recent weeks, with the Philadelphia Phillies having been the only consistent buyer asking about Robert Jr.

Tuesday may very well come and go with both Crochet and Robert Jr. staying put, although Robert Jr. is by far the least likely of the two to be moved.

As always, the trade deadline season has been unpredictable, and the White Sox have contributed much to that mystery.
