The Red Sox have lost yet again, making this their fourth loss in four games, losing every game since the All-Star Break. Tanner Houck started the game poorly, giving up four runs in the second inning. He had a solid start otherwise, but once again the bullpen failed the Sox.

The Sox managed to tie it in the top of the fifth after a three run bomb by Jamie Westbrook, and a single by Rob Ref Snyder. It was back and forth for the rest of the game; the Rockies went up in the bottom of the seventh, and the Sox tied it in the eighth.

The Sox actually had multiple chances to win it in extra innings, but their bullpen simply could not hold the Rockies scoreless for one inning. The Rockies won in the bottom of the 12th after Ezequiel Tovar walked it off to win 9-8.

The Rockies are one of the worst teams in baseball, so hopefully this is a wake-up call for the Red Sox to get back into the form they were in before the break.
