After losing four straight games following the All-Star Break, the Red Sox picked up a much needed victory against the Colorado Rockies, 6-0. Thanks to an excellent performance by starting pitcher Cooper Criswell, the Rockies were unable to get into the offensive rhythm they were in the prior game.

Alternatively, the Sox were able to get their offense running early, thanks to Tyler O’Neill and Rob Refsnyder, who knocked in all their runs. In the first inning, the Sox scored three runs from a Refsnyder double and an O’Neill two-run homer making it 3-0. Refsnyder doubled again in the second inning to score two more runners, making it 5-0. The Sox ended their scoring outburst in the top of the third inning with a solo homer from O’Neill, making it 6-0.

Neither team was able to score after that, giving the Sox the win they needed and a confidence boost. They have a rubber match to decide the series tomorrow at 3:10pm.
