The Dodgers have done well in their matchups with MLB's top teams this season. They still have a chance to win their series against the Phillies, but Tuesday night's 10-1 loss didn't inspire a ton of confidence that Los Angeles as currently constituted can matchup against Philadelphia.

Even with Gavin Stone on the hill for LA against left-hander Cristopher Sanchez for the Phillies, the Dodgers will still enter Wednesday's game as underdogs according to BetMGM.

Run line

Dodgers +1.5: -165
Phillies -1.5: +140

Moneyline

Dodgers: +120
Phillies: -140

Total

Over 9.5 runs: -105
Under 9.5 runs: -115

Prediction

Neither Stone nor Sanchez was particularly good in their last outing. Sanchez allowed seven runs on seven hits in 4.0 innings against the Cubs, while Stone gave up four runs on seven hits in 3.0 innings against the Diamondbacks. It was only the third time all year he gave up four-plus runs, and he's been good at bouncing back from his rough outings.

For Sanchez it was also his third time allowing four-plus runs in a game and he's been strong at bouncing back as well.

Perhaps both pitchers are hitting a wall, but the safer bet is good starts from both. LA's offense, which has scored only three runs in its last two games, has actually been better on the road this season and against left-handed pitching. We'll lean toward the visitors to notch the road win in a tight ballgame.
