The Dodgers are aiming to bolster their bullpen as they piece together a pitching staff that has been hounded by injuries all season. MLB Network's Mark Feinsand on Saturday reported Los Angeles claimed Brent Honeywell off waivers.

Honeywell, 29, has appeared in 45 games since the 2021 season. He has a career 4.95 ERA with 50 strikeouts and 28 walks in 60.0 innings. He has a typical fastball, slider, sweeper, changeup pitch arsenal, but he also throws a screwball about 3.3 percent of the time according to Baseball Savant.

While Honeywell struggled in 2021 and 2023, he had a 2.70 ERA in two appearances for the Pirates before getting waived this season.

LA has leaned a lot on its bullpen while ironing out some issues in its starting rotation this year, so adding another reliever to the bullpen, particularly one that doesn't have a ton of innings on his arm this season, makes sense.
