The Atlanta Braves were the best team in the regular season in 2023 and would've been at least close to as good this year if it weren't for injuries.

Atlanta has one of the deepest rosters in the league. That is why the Braves have been able to remain in playoff contention despite losing superstars like Ronald Acuña Jr. and Spencer Strider. Once healthy again, Atlanta will be a juggernaut in the National League and is built to contend for years.

The Braves will be just fine no matter what happens down the stretch this season. It wouldn't hurt to add some more offensive pop this winter, though, if they want to make a move.

If that ends up being the case, it could make some sense to consider a deal with Milwaukee Brewers star shortstop Willy Adames. He will be one of the top offensive players on the open market and is projected to receive a deal worth roughly $216 million over eight years.

Atlanta has had questions at shortstop since Dansby Swanson left, and landing Adames would answer them for years to come. He is among the top offensive shortstops in baseball and has 32 home runs and 110 RBIs this season in 155 games played. Imagine adding that type of production to a lineup that also has a healthy Acuña in it?

He will be expensive, so the only way a deal would be possible likely is if the club didn't bring ace Max Fried back. He will have plenty of suitors, and if he decides to go elsewhere, maybe the Braves could invest that money in the lineup in someone like Adames.
