The field of 156 at Valhalla Country Club is fighting for the right to be crowned the 2024 PGA Championship winner. Not only does the champion of the event notch a golf major win to their resume, but they also get to take home the Wanamaker Trophy.

However, that's not all. Like every tournament on the PGA Tour, there's a cash prize to be won at the event, with the most money going to the winner — and it's no small amount.

Louisville is the site for this year's PGA Championship, the second major on the PGA Tour. Brooks Koepka enters this year as the defending champion, taking home the Wanamaker Trophy and $3.33 million last year after beating Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler.

How much will the winner be taking home this year from the 2024 PGA Championship?

Here's everything you need to know about this year's purse and winner's share.

For example, Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland tied for second place in 2023. The earnings for the second- and third-place positions — $1.89 million and $1.19 million, respectively — were added together and divided among the two players for their final payout ($1.54 million each, as listed by PGATour.com).
