The 2024 Formula 1 season headed to Southeast Asia this weekend for the Singapore Grand Prix — the 18th race of the year.

Championship leader Max Verstappen and nearest challenger Lando Norris started on the front row, with the latter taking out qualifying with a blistering 1:29.525 lap in Q3.

It was a Saturday to forget for Ferrari though, with Carlos Sainz causing a red flag in the final qualifying session and his teammate Charles Leclerc only managing a P9 result.

Lewis Hamilton has four wins at Marina Bay — the most of any active driver — and was hoping to make it five from third on the grid.

Here's how it all unfolded in Singapore.

Who won the F1 Singapore Grand Prix?

Lando Norris won the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix in dominant fashion.

Starting at the front of the grid, he set off swiftly and never looked back, finishing over 20 seconds ahead of Verstappen despite a couple of brushes with the wall.

The result moves the British star within 52 points of the Dutchman in the championship standings.

Oscar Piastri — who was victorious last time out in Baku — continued his strong form, working his way up from fifth to round out the podium and help grow McLaren's constructors' championship lead.

The Mercedes duo of George Russell and Hamilton finished fourth and sixth, respectively, and were split by Ferrari's Leclerc, who enjoyed a late charge.

Fernando Alonso battled hard, dropping one spot down to eighth behind Sainz.

Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez claimed the last two points-paying positions, finishing ahead of impressive Williams rookie Franco Colapinto.

Despite being an unforgiving street circuit, Sunday's race at Marina Bay was uncharacteristically clean.

The safety car didn't make a single appearance in a race that saw just two retirements, with Alex Albon bowing out early due to an overheating issue and Kevin Magnussen hitting the wall late.

F1 Singapore Grand Prix: Driver of the day

Daniel Ricciardo was voted by the fans as the official driver of the day.

The Australian's short- and long-term future in F1 is clouded, with Liam Lawson an option to replace him as soon as the next grand prix in Austin.

Ricciardo also pitted late and recorded the fastest lap, taking a point away from Norris.
