One of the biggest competitions on the darts calendar is well over through the halfway stage with the 2023 Premier League — the 19th edition of the tournament — having got underway on February 2 in Belfast, which saw Chris Dobey emerge victorious.
Gerwyn Price and Michael Smith both picked up wins in the early stages before Michael van Gerwen found his groove. The Dutchman had won three straight nights on the circuit with his last being a 6-4 win over Smith in Nottingham on March 9, before being whitewashed 6-0 in a stunning defeat to Dobey.
The Dutchman suffered a 6-1 defeat to Price in week eight, while Jonny Clayton has won the last two nights on the road.
Eight players are battling it out for supremacy over a 17-legged tournament, which is taking place across the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands every Thursday for four months.
Last season saw Van Gerwen take home the trophy after he beat Joe Cullen 11-10 in a thrilling final that took place in Berlin.
