A visit to the heavyweight division could result in more history for Claressa Shields. She challenges Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse for the WBC heavyweight title.

Shields (14-0) holds the record for becoming the fastest to win titles in two and three divisions. She is also a two-time undisputed champion, winning all the gold at middleweight and super welterweight. The self-proclaimed “G.W.O.A.T.” and a trailblazer for women’s boxing looks to become a four-division champion in front of family and friends in Detroit.

“This is a significant and unique fight where I am moving up two weight classes against a very tough champion in my quest to become world champion in my fourth weight division,” Shields said via the New York Post. “It’s an exciting time for women’s sports, and I thank DAZN for providing a global platform for women’s boxing. I plan to do what I do best: bring that G.W.O.A.T. energy and continue putting women’s boxing on the map.”

Lepage-Joanisse (7-1) beat Abril Argentina Vidal to win the WBC title. The Canadian is on a four-fight win streak and has two wins via knockout.

A big fight on the card is Michel Rivera vs. Hugo Alberto Roldan. Rivera (25-1) is 2-1 in his last three fights, rebounding against Sergey Lipinets following a loss against Frank Martin. Roldan (22-2-1) is 2-2 in his last four fights and has seven wins via knockout.
