The 2024 Australian Open men's singles tournament will enter its semifinal stage on Friday, January 26, as Novak Djokovic takes on Jannik Sinner in the first match of the day.

The Serbian has a record 10 Australian Open titles to his name, and has won four of the last five tournaments. Djokovic is also coming off the back of a bumper year in 2023, in which he won the Australian Open, French Open and US Open.

Still only 22 years old, the Italian Sinner has impressed in the early stages of his career thus far. In 2022, he made the quarterfinals of three Grand Slams as a 21 year old, and then reached the semifinals of Wimbledon 2023, where he was defeated by Djokovic.

Jannik Sinner win: 2.70

There is no doubt this match is worthy of being the tournament's final but only one can advance to the Australian Open decider.

Sinner has had Djokovic's number recently, beating him twice in November in Davis Cup and the ATP Finals, meaning the Italian can go into the match feeling confident.

But Djokovic is a different beast at the Australian Open, with his last defeat at the tournament coming at 2018 against South Korea's Hyung Cheon in the fourth round, having won the title at Melbourne Park every year since except when he was deported in 2022.

However, Sinner has been fantastic so far in this year's tournament. He is yet to drop a set at the Australian Open so far, including wins against three seeds Rublev (no.5), Karen Khachanov (no.15) and Sebastian Baez (no.26). Overall, Djokovic has spent four hours more on court than Sinner.

Despite form pointing to a close match that Sinner could win, Djokovic's stellar record overal-and in Australia means he is still the overwhelming favourite.
