The 2023/24 English top flight season came down to the final matchday, as Manchester City were hunting a record fourth straight Premier League title and Arsenal gave chase for their first domestic league crown since the Invincibles in 2004.
It was a thrilling finish, as Arsenal led the way in the standings for much of the second half of the title race, but Man City had the advantage thanks to a game in hand. City cashed that in after their penultimate game against Tottenham, sending themselves two points clear atop the table for the final matchday of the season.
Man City just needed to beat West Ham to confirm the title, while Arsenal had to beat Everton and have City drop points as well for a way in the back door.

Who won Premier League title 2023/24?
No team had ever won four straight Premier League titles until Manchester City finished off their historic quartet by beating West Ham 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, May 19.
Phil Foden snatched the opener just two minutes into the match and bagged a brace before the half-hour mark, leaving it elementary the rest of the way. Mohammed Kudus scored a brilliant overhead kick to bring the Hammers a goal back and give Arsenal fans some hope, but Rodri made sure City restored the two-goal lead after halftime to put the upset bid to rest.
For their part, Arsenal worked hard to beat Everton 2-1, coming back from an early deficit thanks to a deflected Idrissa Gueye free-kick, as goals from Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kai Havertz secured three points, but they were powerless to do anything else as Man City held on at the Etihad.

Erling Haaland wins 2023/24 Golden Boot for second straight title
Erling Haaland did not contribute to the scoresheet on the final matchday, but he still coasted to the Golden Boot for his second straight Premier League top goal scorer award.
After a record-setting 2022/23 where he broke the all-time Premier League single-season mark, expectations were sky high, and while Haaland couldn't quite manage to replicate that historic pace, he still led the way with 27 goals, five more than anyone else.
