The last time India and Pakistan faced each other in field hockey at the Asian Games was in 2014. The neighbouring nations locked horns in the final at the Asian Games 2014 in Incheon, South Korea. India defeated Pakistan 4-2 in the shootout to clinch the gold medal.

How has the Indian Hockey Team performed at the Asian Games?

Indian men's hockey team has won three gold medals at the Asian Games in 1966, 1998 and 2014.

India is the third-most successful team in the competition, behind Pakistan (8 titles), and South Korea (4 titles).

The team has also won nine silver medals and three bronze. The only time India was not on the podium was at the 2006 Qatar Asian Games, when they finished fifth.
