Sania Mirza happens to be the only Indian woman to win a Grand Slam title. In fact, in 2015, she was ranked No. 1 in the world in the women's doubles ranking.

In the same year, Mirza partnered with Martina Hingis to claim the women's doubles title at the Wimbledon Championships. They beat Russian duo of Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina 5-7, 7(7)-6(4), 7-5 in the final.

In 2023, Rohan Bopanna will lead the Indian challenge at Wimbledon along with Australian partner Matthew Ebden as the pair are seeded sixth in the men's doubles draw.

Two more Indian pairs -- Yuki Bhambri-Saketh Myneni and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan-N Sriram Balaji-- have also made it to the men's doubles main draw at Wimbledon.

But, Mirza was also spotted at SW 19. Will she get back on the court with her racquet? TSN takes a look.

Is Sania Mirza participating in Wimbledon 2023?

Sania Mirza retired from the sport in February this year. The 2023 Australian Open, where she reached the mixed doubles final with Bopanna, was her final Grand Slam.

Mirza is currently in London at SW 19 to do commentary and offer insights for BBC Studio during the ongoing Wimbledon. She is part of the expert panel that comprises the likes of John McEnroe, Martina Navratilova, Billie Jean King, Pat Cash, Tim Henman, Tracy Austin, Annabel Croft, Johanna Konta, and Anne Keothavong.

She had previously appeared as an expert during the 2023 French Open for the Sony Sports Network, which was the official broadcaster in India.
