The 42nd edition of the Japan Open 2023 is set to be underway at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo on July 25 with the finals taking place on July 30.

Recently crowned Korea Open winners in the men's doubles category, India's Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will be in action again in Japan.

In the men's singles section, Canada Open champion Lakshya Sen returns to action after missing the Korea Open. PV Sindhu, on the other hand, will be aiming to get back to form and win her first BWF World Tour this year.

Sindhu was eliminated from the first round of the Korea Open and as a result dropped to 17th in the world rankings.
