Sania Mirza is known as the glam girl of Indian tennis who remains the only woman from the nation to win a Grand Slam title. 

Although she quickly made a name for herself in singles, Mirza had to give it up due to injuries and shifted her focus to doubles. 

She has won six Grand Slam titles throughout her career, three each in the women’s doubles and mixed doubles. In fact, in 2015, she was ranked NO. 1 in the world in the women's doubles ranking. 

TSN takes a look at the Grand Slams that she has won.

2009 Australian Open - Mixed Doubles

Sania Mirza won her first Grand Slam title at the 2009 Australian Open in the mixed doubles category. She partnered with fellow Indian Mahesh Bhupathi in Melbourne. The pair did not drop a single set throughout the tournament and defeated Israel’s Andy Ram and France’s Nathalie Dechy in the final to clinch the title.

2012 French Open - Mixed Doubles

Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi teamed up again to win the mixed doubles title at the 2012 French Open. Seeded seventh in the tournament, they came up with excellent performances and eventually emerged champions after defeating the Polish-Mexican pairing of Klaudia Jans-Ignacik and Santiago Gonzalez 7-6, 6-1 in the final.

2014 US Open - Mixed Doubles

Sania Mirza paired with Bruno Soares to win the mixed doubles title at the 2014 US Open. They beat USA’s Abigail Spears and Mexico’s Santiago Gonzalez in the final in tiebreakers after an intense battle on the court. 

2015 Wimbledon - Women's Doubles

Sania Mirza partnered with Martina Hingis to claim the women's doubles title at the 2015 Wimbledon Championships. This victory marked a significant milestone in her career, and it was also the first time she became the world No. 1 in the women's doubles ranking. The pair beat the beat the Russian duo of Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina 5-7, 7(7)-6(4), 7-5.

2015 US Open - Women's Doubles

Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis continued their successful partnership at the 2015 US Open, where they won the women's doubles title. They defeated Australia’s Casey Dellacqua and Kazakhstan’s Yaroslava Shvedova 6-3, 6-3 in the final at the Flushing Meadows. This triumph further solidified their status as a dominant team in women's doubles tennis. 

2016 Australian Open - Women's Doubles

Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis won their Grand Slam by winning the women's doubles title at the 2016 Australian Open. They beat the Czech duo of Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka 7(7)-6(1), 6-3 in the final in Melbourne.
