In the words of Frodo Baggins, "It's done."

The Jets and Packers finally struck a deal for quarterback Aaron Rodgers on April 24, in the days leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft. Both sides made out well in the deal, though the Jets are finally looking for the one ring to rule them all after the deal.

As part of the trade package, Gang Green and Green Bay swapped 2023 first-rounders. It's the latest deal in a trade-heavy first round this year. As it stands, of the 31 picks to be made on Day 1 of the draft, nine of those selections will be made by teams that didn't originally own the pick.

The early movement could be a precursor to draft-night chaos. If Houston opts not to take a QB at No. 2 overall, as has been the rumor, then expect the board to break in a big way on April 27.

Here's how the draft order stands after the reported Rodgers trade.

NFL Draft 2023 top prospects

The draft starts at No. 2, if recent rumors are to be believed.

The Panthers are sure to take a quarterback — more than likely it will be Alabama's Bryce Young — but the Texans, who are in need of a franchise passer, may not take Ohio State's C.J. Stroud.

Instead, Houston may opt to take a defensive player with that selection. It may be Texas Tech's Tyree Wilson, Alabama's Will Anderson or Georgia's Jalen Carter. All three are certified game-breaking talents — and they represent a bit of a left turn from where Houston has been expected for months to go.
