Travis Kelce is no stranger to appearing on national television in the fall. September signals the start of the NFL season for the Kansas City Chief's tight end, but football games won't be the only time Kelce earns screen time this year.

Deadline reported in May that the NFL veteran was cast in Ryan Murphy's upcoming horror series titled "Grotesquerie," marking his first high-profile acting job in Hollywood.

If anyone loves a camera, it's Kelce, and there's no doubt this upcoming show requires a different skillset than the one he's used to on the field.

Here's everything you need to know about "Grotesquerie," including a glimpse at Kelce in the trailer for the new FX series.

What is 'Grotesquerie?'

A 10-episode drama series set to premiere on FX Sept. 25, Murphy's "Grotesquerie" follows a small community that has fallen victim to a series of brutal crimes.

The main subject is "Detective Lois Trynon," played by Niecy Nash-Betts, who believes the crimes being committed are personal, directed at her specifically. She is joined by nun "Sister Megan," played by Micaela Diamond, who attempts to help her piece together exactly what is happening in their town.

Kelce's role has not yet been disclosed, but he participated in the show's production this NFL offseason in between visits overseas to his girlfriend Taylor Swift's Eras Tour stops in Europe.

Travis Kelce acting history

This isn't the first time Kelce has appeared on TV without a football uniform on. In 2016, the tight end participated in his own unscripted reality dating series on E! called "Catching Kelce."

In addition to two appearances on Saturday Night Live in the past year-and-a-half, Kelce also produced 2024 film, "My Dead Friend Zoe," which premiered at SXSW. He recently signed on as host of Amazon's "Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity" game show and is set to produce an upcoming documentary titled "King Pleasure" about artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.

"Grotesquerie" is Kelce's first major acting job, and after signing with CAA last year, it seems as if it won't be his last.
