2024 will mark the 77th edition of Christmas Day games with the first taking place back in 1947.

Who is playing on Christmas Day in 2024?
There has been no official announcement from the NBA, but The Athletic's Shams Charania reports the following teams will be taking the court on Christmas Day.
- Spurs at Knicks
- Timberwolves at Mavericks
- 76ers at Celtics
- Lakers at Warriors
- Nuggets at Suns
The five-game slate reportedly includes eight of the 10 teams that played on Christmas Day in 2023, with the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat making way for the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks.
The Christmas Day festivities look to tip off with the two new teams in action, with Jalen Brunson and the new-look Knicks hosting Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs in the Frenchman's first Christmas Day appearance.
The Knicks have not played on Christmas Day since 2021, but still have the most appearances out of any franchise with 54.
Following that, we have a rematch of last year's Western Conference Finals as Luka Doncic and the Mavericks host Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves, and then it's an Eastern Conference blockbuster as the 76ers head to Boston to take on the Celtics.
While LeBron James and Stephen Curry might be teammates right now with Team USA, they'll square off under the bright lights at Chase Center as the Warriors host the Lakers. This year's edition will extend LeBron's record to 19 appearances on Christmas.
The Christmas Day action will then likely conclude with Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and the Nuggets taking on Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and the Suns in Phoenix.
