When thinking about the MLB All-Star Game, defense isn't necessarily the first thing that comes to mind. But Adolis Garcia and Randy Arozarena made sure Gerrit Cole appreciated their efforts in the top of the first inning for the American League.

It started with a deep drive to right off the bat of Ronald Acuña Jr., which looked like it was either out of the park or lost in the sun for the Rangers' Garcia. Garcia, however, made an adjustment at the wall to haul it in.

On the very next batter, Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman drove one the other way, where Arozarena caught the ball Kool-Aid Man style against the wall, planting his limbs against the left field fence.

Afterward, the T-Mobile Park crowd was treated to Arozarena's signature pose.

In the bottom of the inning, Freeman was mic'd up. Known for his good-spirited humor, as Freeman was suggested someone steals Arozarena's boots, the Rangers outfielder drove a hit to left, prompting Freeman to quip "that is not fair."

He added: "You can't take hits away and get hits. You gotta pick one," which led to Arozarena apologizing.

Arozarena would be caught stealing by Sean Murphy shortly thereafter. He was put out by second baseman Luis Arraez, who inadvertently tagged Arozarena in the face. The Marlins star was quick to apologize to Arozarena, who responded to him with a grin.

So, while Arozarena became the first player to get caught stealing in an All-Star Game since 2011, he still had a heck of a run to open the game.
