Newcastle United play host to Tottenham this weekend in what could turn out to be a decisive clash for the fourth and final Champions League spot in the Premier League this season.
The Magpies come into this one having lost just once all season at home in the Premier League and look likely to extend that streak here given Spurs' poor recent form, even though they were well beaten by Aston Villa last time out.
But with players like Harry Kane and Son Heung-min at their disposal, the visitors can never be counted out and will look to this outing to jumpstart the back end of their season.

Newcastle United vs Tottenham odds
Given the away side's poor form of late, Newcastle have been made heavy favourites to win this vital clash between the two top-four hopefuls.
Eddie Howe's men have won five of their past six in the league but their last outing did result in a poor 3-0 loss to Aston Villa, which will be a cause for concern, especially given the nature of their performance at Villa Park.
Spurs continue to struggle for any sort of form, though, which is particularly true on the road given that the London side have now failed to win any of their prior six away matches across all competitions.
Newcastle's 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture this season could also give them the psychological edge here.

Newcastle United vs Tottenham team news
Allan Saint-Maximin remains the biggest loss for the hosts as he continues with a spell on the sidelines through a hamstring injury, though there was better news as fellow wide midfielder Miguel Almiron returned during their match last weekend. Emil Krafth remains Newcastle's only long-term absentee.
Spurs continue to have a lengthy injury list as Rodrigo Bentancur, Emerson Royal, Ryan Sessegnon, Ben Davies and Yves Bissouma all remained sidelined through injury. Lucas Moura will also serve the final game of his three-match suspension for this one, and Clement Lenglet is a doubt.
Newcastle United vs Tottenham prediction
- Moneyline lean: Draw (+270)
- Against the spread lean: Newcastle -0.5 (-125)
- Score prediction: Newcastle 1-1 Tottenham
As mentioned before, Newcastle have been formidable on home soil this season with their only loss at St James' Park coming to Liverpool a few weeks back.
That's been built on a solid defensive line who have conceded just nine times across 14 home league outings, though that same backline did come under fire following their 3-0 loss to Aston Villa last weekend.
Howe admitted his side were "off it in every discipline of the game" and he'll be working quickly to remedy that performance as Spurs head north in this potential top-four showdown.
Given Newcastle's home form, Spurs look unlikely to grab all three points here but they still hold plenty of talent to take home at least a point. Harry Kane in particular could have a say here: the England international has struck five goals across his past five league outings and has also netted five in his previous three league visits to this ground, which points toward another goalscoring display this weekend.
Newcastle United vs Tottenham best bet
- Pick: Both teams to score - YES
- Odds: -138 (BetMGM)
Whilst Newcastle have kept it very tight defensively on home soil this season, Spurs continue to score goals aplenty despite their poor form in terms of results.
The visitors have scored in 11 of their past 12 outings in the Premier League, scoring two or more goals in a match on seven occasions during that run. On top of that, Spurs have also scored in each of their previous 16 visits to St James' Park since a 1-0 FA Cup loss back in March 2005.
As for Newcastle, they've netted in all but three of their home league matches this season as they continue their top-four push on the front foot offensively.
Newcastle United vs Tottenham flier bet
- Pick: Draw at halftime, draw at fulltime
- Odds: +425 (BetMGM)
Newcastle have definitely been the better side out of the two this season when considering squad level and quality, but that big loss to Villa last weekend was an eye-opener.
That's why we've backed the draw here in general and a draw in each half of this match, something that can be further backed up by the fact that Newcastle haven't beaten Spurs in their past five attempts at home.
