After losing much of the first three days to rain and poor outfield conditions at Kanpur, Day 4 began on a bright note as the bowlers led by Jasprit Bumrah bundled out Bangladesh for 233 runs.

Coming into bat for the first time in the 2nd Test match of the series, the two openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed 51 runs off just 18 deliveries, setting a new record for the fastest team fifty in Test cricket history.

Jaiswal and Rohit gave the Bangladesh bowlers a run for their money with their aggressive batting as they came out to bat as the former smashed Hasan Mahmud for a hattrick of fours in the first over.

Rohit then smashed Khaled Hasan for back-to-back sixes in the second over before Jaiswal took the charge against Mahmud again in the third, hitting two sixes and two fours.

Soon enough, the Indian batsman saw their team’s total hit the fifty-run mark in just 3 overs, or 18 deliveries, helping them edge past the record that they previously set against the England's 'Bazball' team earlier this year, at Nottingham.

Let’s look at the top five fastest fifties scored in Test cricket history.
