After putting India B to bat after winning the toss, India A, with the pace attack of Khaleel Ahmed, Akash Deep and Avesh Khan ran over the batting line-up of India B. Musheer Khan who batted at 3, however, stuck to an end after coming in to bat after an hour’s play in the first session at 33/1.

While the India A’s pace trio kept striking from one end, Musheer Khan kept grinding and scored a resilient 227-ball-105 as the day ended.

The 19-year-old found some support for the 8th wicket after Navdeep Saini joined him in the middle and the duo added 108 runs while steadily building a 35.1 over partnership. Saini finished the day with 29*(74).

Following the century, India’s T20I captain lauded the youngster for his prolific knock which led India B to a decent recovery on Day 1.

He used the line “Duty ke baad roz practice, jitna duty utna practice” from MS Dhoni’s biopic where Dhoni’s superior tells him about his practice schedule after work. He also praised the pacer, Saini for playing the support cast.

The 33-year-old who was also supposed to play for India C under Ruturaj Gaikwad missed out on the first game of the domestic season through a sprain in the right thumb.
