Reigning IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have reportedly offered Mumbai Indians star and India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav a captaincy role ahead of IPL 2025, according to RevSportz

Yadav who had previously played for KKR for four years between 2014 and 2017 and was also a part of the squad that lifted the IPL title in 2014, could return to his former franchise.

Yadav recently starred in India's T20 World Cup triumph in West Indies where they defeated South Africa in the final. He is also the second-ranked player in the latest ICC T20I rankings.

Post the World Cup, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement after which Yadav was named as Indian skipper in the shortest format.

Will Suryakumar Yadav join KKR?

KKR bagged their third IPL title under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer in 2024, however, it seems like they are unlikely to retain the skipper ahead of the new season.

Yadav, on the other hand, remains a mainstay in the MI squad and it remains to be seen if the captaincy offer would tempt him to leave the franchise and head back to Kolkata.
