Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were full of hope when they took on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2024 IPL Final. The Orange Army have played some fearless cricket all season long, and deservedly made their way into the IPL Final.
But it was not to be.
After missing out on the playoffs for three consecutive seasons from 2020 to 2023, the Pat Cummins-led franchise made a raring return to the knockout rounds in 2024. SRH were adamant in acquiring some big-money buys at the IPL 2024 auction, and have had it worked out perfectly for them, five months later.
The Hyderabad-based outfit finished second on the points table, at the end of the group stage games. Winning eight out of 14 games, they finished ahead of the Rajasthan Royals (RR), only on Net Run Rate.

However, in the final, KKR were just too good for them romping to an 8-wicket win.

Sunrisers Hyderabad made their debut appearance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2013. Having been a mainstay ever since, the SRH have featured in three IPL Finals in the past 11 editions. The IPL 2024 final was their third IPL final.
Having played in two IPL Finals until 2023, SRH have had a mixed bag of results in IPL finals. However, the biggest night in the franchise's history, would be the one in 2016.
