The recruitment of Cameron Green, Alzarri Joseph, Will Jacks, Reece Topley, and Lockie Ferguson were meant to strengthen the overseas core. Instead, what we have now is a chaotic mess of uncertainty and withering self-belief as each game progresses. 

RCB lost seven of their first eight games, but have since staged a remarkable comeback to qualify for the playoffs.

To be numerically in contention for the playoffs, RCB needed to win their final league game of the season by beating CSK by at least 18 runs or going past CSK's total in 18.1 overs in order to go past CSK's NRR.

Having posted 218/5 on the board against CSK, RCB managed to restrict their opponents to just 191 runs thereby qualifying for the playoffs.
