Suresh Raina is one of the most talented batsmen the Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen since its inception all the way back in 2008. Over the course of 205 matches, Raina put up a total of 5500 runs, making him one of the highest scorers in the competition's history.

While the recently concluded IPL season was perhaps the most exciting of all editions, fans would have been surprised and disappointed to not have seen Raina in action, who went unsold in the auction.

However, there is some good news for Raina fans who haven't seen him in action for over a year.

Suresh Raina to play in Sri Lanka Premier League

Raina's name was in the latest list released by the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) cricket board featuring the names of all international and domestic cricketers who will feature in the fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) set to be held this year.

Having retired from all formats of international cricket in 2020, Raina is eligible to play in a foreign Twenty20 league, as Board of Council for Cricket in India (BCCI) rule which forbids active players from playing abroad in this format does not apply to him any longer.

Which team will Suresh Raina play for in LPL?

As of now, Raina has not been allocated a team as this year's LPL auction is set to be held on June 14 at Colombo, Sri Lanka, where the former Chennai Super Kings star will find out whom he will play for.
