Earlier this year, India registered their largest win in a Test match by a margin of runs when they thrashed England in the third Test match in Rajkot in the five-match series by 434 runs. 

Team India's largest Test win before that was their 372-run victory over New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in 2021. In all, they have won eight matches by more than 300 runs.

On September 22, India outclassed Bangladesh by 280 runs to clinch the first Test match of their ongoing two-match series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Following their win against Bangladesh and subsequent 0-3 series defeat at home to New Zealand, India travelled to Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

The Indians turned up big time in the big Test series, starting with the first Test at Perth where they bundled the home side for 104, taking a 46 run lead.

In the second innings, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli scoring 161(297) and 100*(143) respectively alongside KL Rahul's showcasing his class for his 77(176), India posted a 534-run target for Australia and got them reduced to 79/5, early on day 4.
