Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh will both make their return to the Australian side in March, with the pair selected in the ODI squad to face India in a three-game series.

Maxwell was ruled out of the entire Big Bash season and the Test tour of India due to a broken leg, ending his hopes of a recall to the red-ball side.

The 34-year-old made his return from injury recently for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield competition and has immediately been brought back into the Aussie set-up.

Marsh also missed the BBL|12 campaign for the Scorchers due to an ankle issue, but has been named to make his return alongside fast-bowler Jhye Richardson.

Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the series due to a nagging Achilles issue, however opening batsman David Warner has been selected in the 16-man group.

“With the World Cup just over seven months away, these matches in India are an important step in our preparation," national selector George Bailey said.

"Glenn, Mitchell and Jhye are all important players in what we think the squad might look like come October.

“It would be great for Josh to be part of this series but we have taken a conservative view ahead of a very important winter in England of which he will be an integral part."

Pat Cummins will again captain the side for the three matches in Mumbai, Vizag and Chennai.

The series will begin on March 17th following the Test series.
