After amassing stellar numbers in his career, Dravid tried his hand at coaching. He recently led the Indian team to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies after a three-year-long stint. Previously, he had managed to lead the team to the final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 as well.
Now that Dravid is on a break from cricketing activities, his son Samit Dravid has stepped up with a masterclass performance in the ongoing Maharaja Trophy T20. Samit plays for the Mysuru Warriors in the tournament.

How did Samit Dravid play in the Maharaja Trophy?
Playing against the Gulbarga Mystics, Samit smashed a 24-ball 33-run knock while chasing a target of 197 runs set by the Warriors. Samit’s innings consisted of 4 fours and a six. The youngster stitched an important partnership alongside skipper Karun Nair which helped the team propel to 196 runs in 20 overs.
Although he is still far from reaching the heights his father did, Samit seems to be a promising talent with the bat. If he continues to shine in the same way, he could soon get an important breakout moment in his career.
Despite putting a score of 196 runs on the board, the Warriors lost out to the Mystics as they chased down the target with three wickets in hand.
