The Paris Olympics 2024 is underway and India have opened their account in this year's summer games on Sunday as Manu Bhaker became the first women's shooter to win a medal in the Olympics

The young shooter won the Bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol air rifle category in Paris thereby also becoming the first Indian to win a medal in this edition of the competition.

While several Indians across multiple sporting disciplines have been bringing accolades to the nation over the years, there have been a particular set of sportsmen and women who have never been part of an Olympic contingent. 

They are none other than the men's and women's cricketers of India. However, it is all set to change from the next edition of the games as cricket is all set to be included.

Will Cricket be part of Olympic Games?

The International Olympic Committee confirmed last year in October that five sports will be added to the Summer Games in Los Angeles in the 2028 edition. 

The five sports are Baseball/softball, cricket (T20), flag football, lacrosse (sixes) and squash.

The shortest format of the sport, T20Is, will be included in the Olympic games from the next edition in Los Angeles.
