One of the biggest cricketing leagues in the world, the Indian premier League (IPL) has concluded its 2024 edition on Sunday, May 26 as the Kokata Knight Riders (KKR) took on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Both teams had a fantastic run of form throughout the 2024 IPL season. SRH have been the prime reason behind the batting revolution that the league has witnessed, while KKR have worked as a rigid unit without any loose ends throughout.

Skippers of both the teams, Shreyas Iyer (KKR) and Pat Cummins (SRH) did a commendable job in leading their teams to the final. But it was Shreyas Iyer who emerged triumphant and became only the fifth Indian player to lift the IPL trophy.

Most Successful IPL Captains

Two teams and two captains that have dominated the IPL since its inception have been Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians with MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma respectively. The two have shared 10 IPL titles among themselves, followed by the others.
