One of the founding teams of the IPL, the Punjab Kings have had a somewhat rocky history in the league since 2008.

How many IPL titles have the Punjab Kings won?
Despite being in the IPL since its inception, the Punjab Kings are yet to win an IPL title.
The closest they have come is in 2014, finishing first in the league table standings but losing to Kolkata Knight Riders in the final.
Punjab Kings IPL history
The Punjab Kings have a somewhat chequered history across their 15 years in the IPL.
In 2010, the Kings were expelled from the IPL along with the Rajasthan Royals due to controversy surrounding the league's founder and former commissioner Lalit Modi, and were only reinstated following the involvement of India's high court.
The team's best season to date came in 2014, where they finished top of the league's standings before losing by three wickets in the final to Kolkata.
The team officially changed its name from 'Kings XI Punjab' to 'Punjab Kings', in an effort to "relook at things," according to co-owner Ness Wadia.
