Fever fans got a bit of a jump scare tonight during the team's matchup vs. the Dream.

With just over three minutes remaining in the first quarter, Caitlin Clark hit the ground holding her left ankle after falling backward into the paint on a defensive set.

The rookie remained down while Indiana head coach Christie Sides approached her on the court as teammates crowded around.

Caitlin Clark injury update

Despite appearing to be in significant pain after rolling her ankle, Clark walked off the court under her own power. She re-entered the game at the start of the second quarter after sitting out the remainder of the first to receive treatment on the end of the bench.

She removed her shoe and sock to get her ankle taped and she was good to return.

Eventually playing 37 minutes in the contest, Clark scored 19 points on 6-of-14 shooting with seven rebounds and seven assists in the Fever's 84-79 win.

Clark addressed the injury scare in the postgame press conference alongside teammate Kelsey Mitchell and Sides.

"I saw the replay, and I look really soft," the rookie said, as Mitchell and Sides laughed. "It wasn't that bad of a turn, but it hurt. So sometimes you just need to give yourself a second. If you've ever turned your ankle, it just kind of stings for a little bit, so I was good."
