The UEFA European Championship is always a massive draw, situated exactly halfway through each World Cup cycle and satiating every football fan's appetite for high-leverage international matches in the summer months.

With the biggest club leagues on a break, Euro 2024 sees many of the top stars from across Europe challenge for a highly coveted trophy and four years of bragging rights.

Defending champions Italy won the most recent title in a COVID-delayed tournament in 2021, despite having failed to qualify for the World Cup two years earlier. But they were out in 2024, after being beaten by Switzerland in the Round of 16.

Spain vs. England prediction, odds

Spain have been by far the most impressive side at Euro 2024, and are coming off a win against a team that has a similar approach to England.

La Roja punished France for their lack of attacking intent following an early goal, pouring on the pressure and turning the match around within the opening half-hour. Spain have been so incredibly efficient this entire competition, it's hard to look past them.

Pre-tournament favorites England have accomplished the incredibly difficult task of reaching the final but finding themselves as strong underdogs. The betting market has been forced to value the Three Lions on performances over results, and the narrative around Gareth Southgate's side has focused largely on their poor eye test.

This tournament has also seen a slight uptick in goals after a group stage and Round of 16 that were bereft of finishing quality, as eight of the last 12 Euro 2024 matches have gone over the 2.5 goal threshold. The final now features a clash of styles from that perspective. On the one hand, Spain have gone over the total in four of their six Euro 2024 games, including each of their three knockout matches — putting four past Georgia and two each against Germany and France.

England, meanwhile, seem largely averse to this — only one of their six Euro games have finished the 90 minutes of regulation over the total, and that was their 2-1 semifinal win over the Netherlands, which required a 91st-minute winner from Ollie Watkins and included a dubious penalty by Harry Kane.
